About the Course

Alarm Control

Kohost integrates seamlessly with your school’s alarm system, offering centralized control for quick responses. When the alarm is triggered, it doesn’t just send notifications—it can activate automations, such as shutting down the building’s lights, adjusting HVAC systems, and locking all doors to secure the campus. Administrators can arm or disarm the system remotely and monitor alarm activity in real-time, making it easier to manage security protocols and ensure the safety of everyone in the building.

How to control your alarm

Arming and Disarming:

  1. In your Kohost Homepage, click Security.

  2. View the current status of your alarm in the "Armed" or "Disarmed" state.

  3. Swipe on "Armed" or "Disarmed" to change the state of the alarm.

  4. Input your code.

  5. The alarm system will now arm or disarm as long as the code was correct.

Bypassing:

  1. In the bottom left, select "Doors & Windows".

  2. If the "Doors & Windows" button is green, there is nothing interfering with being able to arm the alarm.

  3. If the "Doors & Windows" button is red, there is motion or an open door or window that is preventing arming.

  4. To view specific zone or sensors, click the "Doors & Windows" button.

  5. To bypass any zone or sensor, simply tap the zone.

  6. You will see "Bypassed" underneath the zone.

Alerts:

  1. In the bottom middle, select "Alerts".

  2. If there is an issue such as a lost signal from a sensor or low battery, it will populate in the Alerts section.

Settings:

  1. In the bottom right, select "Settings".

  2. Applicable alarm settings will appear in this tab depending on your alarm system.
