SOS Portal

Kohost SOS is a powerful emergency response system that automates building systems and instantly alerts staff, ensuring a fast, coordinated response in critical situations. By streamlining communication and response efforts, it helps protect students, staff, and faculty when every second counts.

How to utilize the SOS feature:

Alerting:

1. In your Kohost Homepage, choose the red SOS tile.

2. Towards the top, the SOS Animation lets you know what state the SOS system is in.

   • Blinking red means Active SOS, coinciding with the highlighted red tile.

   • Stationary grey means no emergency is active through Kohost.

3. In case of emergency, click one of the six tiles at the bottom that best describes the emergency.

4. Input optional text to describe the emergency.

5. Slide the SOS circle to the right to send the alert.

6. The system will go into SOS Mode and send an automatic SMS text to all staff with the description and details of the emergency.

7. To cancel an active SOS, choose "cancel" at the top right corner of the interface.

8. The system will stay in SOS mode until "cancel" is clicked.

Automations:

1. In the event of an emergency, here are some examples of automations that Kohost runs with integrated hardware:

   • Fire Emergency

     • Unlocks all integrated doors

     • Populates evacuation plan on integrated media modules (if provided)

     • Turns on all integrated lights

     • Broadcasts message through PA system

       
       

   • Shooter Emergency

     • Locks all integrated doors

     • Populates active shooter emergency plan on integrated media modules (if provided)

     • Turns on all integrated lights

     • Broadcasts message through PA system
