How to Make Kohost an App

Kohost as an App

Once you’re on the Kohost home screen and see the big tiles like Concierge and SOS, follow the steps for your device and browser.

Phones

iPhone or iPad with Safari or Chrome

1. On the Kohost home screen, tap the Share icon (square with an arrow).

2. Tap Add to Home Screen.

3. Change the name if you’d like, then tap Add.

4. You’ll now see the Kohost icon on your Home Screen.

Android with Chrome

1. On the Kohost home screen, tap the three dots menu in the top right.

2. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.

3. Confirm the install.

4. The Kohost icon will appear in your app drawer and on your Home Screen.

Android with Microsoft Edge

1. On the Kohost home screen, tap the three dots menu.

2. Tap Install app or Add to phone.

3. Confirm.

4. The Kohost icon will appear in your app drawer and on your Home Screen.

Note: On iPhone and iPad, this only works in Safari. Other browsers will not show Add to Home Screen.

Computers

Mac with Safari (macOS Sonoma or newer)

1. On the Kohost home screen, click File in the top menu.

2. Select Add to Dock (or use the Share button, then Add to Dock).

3. Name it and click Add. Kohost will now open in its own window and appear in Applications and the Dock.

Windows or Mac with Chrome

1. On the Kohost home screen, look for the Install icon in the address bar. If you see it, click it and confirm.

2. If you don’t see it, click the three dots menu.

3. Select Cast, Save, and Share, then Install Page as App. 

4. Name it "Kohost" or your desired name, and click Install.

5. Kohost will now launch as a standalone app from your desktop or app menu.

6. Right click the icon in your dock or taskbar, and choose Pin to Taskbar or Keep in Dock.

Windows or Mac with Microsoft Edge

1. On the Kohost home screen, click the three dots menu.

2. Go to Apps, then Install this site as an app. You can also click the Install icon in the address bar if visible.

3. Confirm. Kohost will appear in Start on Windows or in Applications on Mac.
